Description
Sea Vixen and Sea Harrier rest side-by-side at the Midland's Air Museum on the outskirts of Coventry.
The De Haviland Sea Vixen provided the Royal Navy Air Service (RNAS) with its first jet-powered, all-weather figher aircraft, joining the service in 1959 and lasting into the early 70's when the US Built Phantom II jets began to replace them.
The Hawker Sea Harrier first joined the force in 1978, evolving through several generations of rugged, multi-role duties before being retired themselves in 2006.
